A fun way to practice recall
Recall can be tricky, but this exercise lets you practice the call signal in a fun way, avoiding situations where your dog might choose not to listen.
Practice with no distractions
Start training without distractions to help your dog learn, or reinforce, their recall signal. You'll get faster success if every call means your dog comes to you for a reward. Don't rush it – practice often indoors first, then move to the garden, then on walks, and finally on off-lead adventures.
This exercise is fun and suitable for puppies and adult dogs alike. Make it a positive experience for your dog and keep sessions short. Just a few minutes of practice each day can make a big difference to your walks!
