Thinking about the heat in your car?
Every year, cats are left alone in hot cars. This can very quickly become a death trap for the animal. The heat in the car rises incredibly quickly and is much hotter than it is outside.
So, in summer, there’s one basic rule when it comes to cats and cars – never leave your cat alone in the car! Leaving the car window slightly open won’t help, as it doesn’t provide enough ventilation to lower the temperature inside. This applies whether it’s sunny or cloudy.
The table above shows how much hotter it gets inside the car compared to outside. Always think twice before taking your cat out in the car during warm weather!
