Documents and information needed for submitting a claim

Please note: When submitting your first claim, we require your pet's microchip or tattoo number. If your pet has not yet been microchipped or tattooed, we will cover the cost of identification as part of the preventive care allowance included in our health insurance plans.

Submitting via the app
You can find the "Submit invoice" button under the "Insurance" tab, where you will also find step-by-step instructions.

Submitting via email
For surgery or health insurance claims: Send an email to schadenteam@lassie.de and attach the following documents:
✔ Policy number
✔ Microchip number
✔ Vet invoice (including pet's name, age, breed, microchip number, and diagnosis)
✔ Patient records
✔ Account details for reimbursement

Get your claim paid at the vet

If your veterinarian or veterinary clinic agrees, we will handle the direct billing of the services. You don’t have to pay in advance, and the process is especially convenient for you. Please check with the practice beforehand to see if they agree.

Dissatisfied with your claims handling?

If you are not satisfied with the claims decision, you have these options:
  • Contact your claims handler
    If you are not satisfied with the claims decision or want to know more about it, please first contact the handler of your claim, who informed you of the decision via email.
  • Appeal the decision
    You then have the option of having your claim re-examined by the Lassie Board of Appeal. The prerequisite is that you provide us with new, additional information, for example a report from the vet or laboratory results. Please complete the template and send it by e-mail to: schadenpruefung@lassie.de.
